The old general music thread.... What are you listening to right now? Does it help or hinder your writing? --- I have Frozen playing - Let It Go is just finishing. Frozen is distracting, not helpful. I enjoy singing along far too much for this to be writing music. In 25 languages? Let It Go

Soilwork. In the middle of Long Live the Misanthrope from their newest album. One of my favorite bands, but a little too hyper to be really productive for writing. I only really listen to music when writing when I need to drown out the TV, though. Otherwise I find silence works best.

Silence = sleepy for me I'm watching TV. Procrastination FTW!

Poor neglected music thread. *raises hand* I listen to metal, mostly, and we already have a metal thread, which is why I haven't been posting here. Would it be spamming if I posted here as well, to get the conversation going? :-<
Well, I'll risk it, since TearsOfNightfall posted about Soilwork. XD
Love this song.

I grew up listening to a combination of 70s/80s rock and traditional Scottish folk songs, so if I use this thread for all the non-metal things I randomly listen to it's probably going to get weird.

Weird, or awesome?
On my end, non metal stuff that I listen to regularly: '70's music, '80's music, '90's mainstream rock...
*Seriously debates putting up Safety Dance for the nth time, because I love that song is awesome and it never gets old.*
But I absolutely love this song too because HER VOICE.
This music video makes no sense! It has everything but the kitchen sink.

You know those days when you wake up with a song you haven't heard in years stuck in your head? Also, 'zombie' by The Cranberries: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ejga4kJUts I'm just linking to this one because I didn't want to double-post. Also, violence - the video is about the English occupation of Ireland so it's pretty dark.

I love this song too.
(First one -- Oh! I've actually heard this song! Guess there was a crack in the rock I live under! Second -- I wish The Zombies had written a song called 'Cranberry', just so it would be symmetrical... Man I miss the '90's.)
