I've killed off two characters so far, one being a POV character. The protagonist has gone antagonist and kidnapped the surviving protagonist's son. Now the protagonist is stuck in a church being tortured by a demon.
Problem is, I have no idea where this is going or why the demon is torturing my surviving FMC the way he is. Everything sucks. My word count sucks.

From what you say, it sucks no worse than anything I've produced. Keep at it! Sometimes you have to write blind, before it becomes clear. At least you'll eventually figure out whether your characters know what they're doing, or whether you really are in need of a break.
All first drafts are sh!t, and nothing is ever perfect the first time around. I'd say go ahead and finish the story. You might have gaping holes, but you can always go back and fill them in. Some stories just come more easily than others.
Go on. You can do it!

Thank you, Agent. Gonna re-read your awesome little pep talk before I start writing on it some more tomorrow night...
