Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here:
So, I just found a Dr. Seuss reference in my novel. Sam keeps telling her dad "I *am* Sam, I am!"
Uh... Well, happy belated birthday to Dr. Seuss... I guess... ><
Anyone else finding any strange things in their writing, like this or something else, maybe? Or am I the only one with *no* communication at all between the parts of my brain that do this?

Haha ah well. I've found some pretty weird stuff in my writing and funny things like this as well! Last year we put a 'Dr. Seuss WriDay' on the calander. Tried to host it this year. But while writing I somehow forgot midnight and forgot to open the challenge wooops. Let's honor him in this thread then. Eventhough it's a bit late

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
I once named a character Anapestia because Dr. Seuss wrote in anapestic tetrameter! xD #strangedrseussrefs
I have the weirdest PlotMoisms and NaNoisms in my planning documents. xD I have this weird habit of always writing ,said A, and ,said B dialogue tags after someone's spoken, even if there are only two people present. It adds to my word count! However, it really bugs my characters, and they break off their conversation just to yell at me about it!

Oh, trust me. I've had Dylan yelling at me for being unable to decide where to go from this kissing scene... He left Van leaning against the wall and just started shouting at me to write something already so they wouldn't be stuck like that another hour... >< Considering he's been in military school since he could walk, and can shoot any kind of weapon with incredible accuracy...

Oh yes, my characters think I'm an idiot. Now if only I can keep them from figuring out that I am a sadistic Dark Lord who wants to screw up their lives as badly as I can!
Or maybe they know that already, which is why they're not talking to me about what happens to them? I sincerely hope not.
Then again, it's quite true that I would not want to get on the bad side of some of my characters. MMC of current novel, for instance. *shudder* He's a vampire, and generally...sometimes...occasionally...at rare moments...a nice guy...oh, all right, Jonas, "one who occasionally tolerates with equanimity the extreme foolishness of the vast majority of the human population"...but when he's mad, he's scary! =P

Well, Sam and Kanji are just violent people... Whereas I just love Gegaesse and Sevianne too much and would hate to have them upset with me. Although Gaesse may get to yell once or twice... >:3 OH MY DISHES I JUST GOT THE MOTHER OF ALL FREAKING FOOT CRAMPS. Ahem. But Anitor is king, so he may not be the best person to anger... And from there its all minor characters (who are going to be so much fun! yay!!). >shrug<

XD
The sad part is that I want my characters to be realistic...but they can read my mind, so they react the same way they would in my novel. It's quite difficult! =(
Jonas would probably leave me bleeding on the sidewalk without bothering to bite [1], if he knew what I intended...or, should I say, intend to intend, because I don't know what happens yet, only that it's going to be bad.
However, it does give me an idea as to what his backstory could be, and why the second villain, Dearhart, hates him. Hmm...
Oh, dear. And if I hurt AJ, she'd probably just go back in time and screw up my past. XD
[1] A very uncivil thing to do in Vampland. (And now Jonas is curling his lip sardonically -- because he doesn't want me to tell you that he's really rolling his eyes -- and telling me not to call it "Vampland." Such a plebian colloquialism.) Apparently it's okay to hurt people if you bite them first...and then if they die, it's their own damn fault. Regular murder, however, is a capital crime. XD

Heh, my characters are sort of the other way around. I usually don't want to write what happens to them, lol. I had one character go blind and I was like... no way, that sucks! But he made me do it.
I had one character that died. Main character! I was like... uh, you can't kill off a main character IN A ROMANCE! She made me do it. Refused to cooperate entirely when I tried to write it otherwise.
I mean, really? A character gets blinded, another one dies?? WHO DOES THAT STUFF?? Gah!
I once tried to force one to take his time getting somewhere so I could describe the world. He showed himself turning up at the cave. I tried to make him go there so I could see the 'getting there' and describe the landscape. He showed himself there again. Utterly refused entirely to in any way be associated with landscape description.
You'd think I'd have better control over the figments of MY imagination! GAH!

Why not? Ever read of seen P.S. I love you? Sure you can kill a main character in a Romance ^_^ Haha, characters suck. Wish we could write novels without them, right?

Ever read Slaughterhouse 5, by Kurt Vonnegut? Best example of a book about a non-character. And it works!

Hey, I've killed off a few MCs before. That's just how it goes, ya know? I forget which story that was now.. OH! My NaNo from last year! The villain shot my FMC and her brother, the MMC, literally got lost forever outside of space and time (I call it Nirvana...). So... ><
And I have to rewrite the last bit of what I wrote last night (like 500 ish words) because it really doesn't make any sense. I mean, a dragon just pulled this girl through the wall, and you're worried about how she got into the cell? No, just no, Gegaesse... So fingers crossed this works better...

Ahahaha, the dragon pulled the girl i]through[/i] the wall? Nice! A bit of quantum finagling there!
So I basically killed two of my darlings, because their characters seemed redundant, but they refuse to die, because nature abhors a plot hole. I don't know what to do with them, because it would mean introducing the woman too early...also, I don't know how to differentiate them from FMC and MMC. Both "pairs" might be doing similar things...easy to say to just combine them, but that leaves no antagonist...eugh....

Well, technically, it was a portal, but it was right against the wall, so...
And that sounds like quite the dilemma... D:

Well, we'll see what happens once I finish the character sheets and stuff...eh...once I find character sheets. XD If I can flesh them out enough to give them different motives, then hopefully I can differentiate them enough that it adds rather than detracts from the story. Oh. A portal isn't a plot hole! Portals are allowed. ^^)
